New PPO No for pensioners

Know Your New PPO No

Pensioners are getting messages from PCDA(P), Allahabad that their account has been created on SPARSH portal. Every defence pensioner is allotted with a Pensioner ID, Username & Password. The Pensioner ID is a 12 digit number. If you add 01 as suffix of your Pensioner ID you will get your Username. For example, if your Pensioner ID is 236201700123, then your Username will be 23620170012301.

Now, your Pensioner ID is your New PPO No too. In this case the new PPO No is 236201700123. That means you can easily remember your Pensioner ID & Username, if you memorise your PPO No or vice-versa.

Actually our PPO No is assigned in a logical way and here each digit has its own indication

For example, take the above PPO No – 236201700123

1st Digit indicates Service & Category, i.e Army, Navy, Air force & Civilians. And Category refers to –
(i) Post Sep 2021 Pensioners ( 1)
(ii) Pre Sep 2021 Pensioners ( 2)

( Note: SPARSH is implemented from September 2021 Pensioners through online documentation & centralized pension disbursement. But those who retired before Sep 2021 are being migrated to this scheme.)

Now let’s identify the above mentioned PPO No – 2 36 2017 00123

1st digit ( 2) indicates the Pensioner is from Army & Retired before Sep 2021.

2nd & 3rd digits ( 36) indicate the Record office of the Pensioner is AEC

4th to 7th digits ( 2017) indicate the Year of Retirement.

8th to 12th digits, means the last five digits indicate the Running serial number of PPO. In this case it is 00123

Re-submission of Life Certificate

All defence pensioners will be migrated to SPARSH by the end of January 2022. Once your Pension is transferred from Bank to SPARSH, it is Mandatory to Resubmit the Life Certificate on SPARSH Portal, with the New PPO number allotted by SPARSH. Remember, your Pensioner ID is your New PPO No. If Life Certificate is not resubmitted, your pension may be stopped after two months from the date of migration.
